About Blake Cummings
Blake Cummings is a native Oklahoman, born in Muskogee, raised in Haskell County. Son of a school teacher father and a Choctaw mother, Blake and his wife Donna live near Centerview in Pottawatomie County. They are parents of three and grandparents of six, not counting dogs, cats, chickens or ducks. Blake is a former oil & gas consultant and government relations manager in both the telecom and energy industries.
Believing in the strength of grassroots movements, Blake Cummings actively seeks to engage with the community, listen to their concerns, and advocate for effective solutions. Together, we can build an Oklahoma that prioritizes the needs of its residents, rather than the desires of the rich corporations.

Why Choose Blake?
We can fix Education
Blake says that teaching our children to learn is our greatest gift to them. But our current leaders' focus on saving a dollar at the expense of a child's future is ridiculous. We can change this practically overnight with the right leadership. For several years some of our best teachers have left Oklahoma for neighboring states that value the teaching profession more than our Legislature does. Blake doesn't want us to continue losing educators and eventually students to states that provide better opportunities. On average, 49 other states do it better than we do. That is the greatest embarrassment for our children to bear. Give public education the support it deserves under the state Constitution. Corporate Oklahoma needs to pay their historic share under the Gross Production Tax, without the 2% GPT specials that they pocketed at the expense of our schoolchildren. Outside businesses will want to come to Oklahoma again to live and work, knowing their children are not taking a back seat to those in other states. All it takes is a long hard look at what a bottom ten ranking does to a state. If this Legislature is truly doing all they can, they need to step down and stand aside. Let's compete with Texas and Kansas in something besides sports for a change. Better schools equal better-prepared children, which in turn equals a better quality of life in the Sooner state.
Leadership with Heart, Mind and Soul, not Ideology.
Blake looks at every problem with empathy, seeking a deep understanding of the struggles that Oklahomans face daily. By listening to diverse viewpoints and seeing that change can be a team effort for all of us, Blake sees issues as challenges and understands that solutions are not one size fits all but are degrees of incremental gains that should not be attached to any political ideology but to simply make life better for our citizens as a whole. Our problems can't be solved by Rs and Ds; they must be resolved as Oklahomans for Oklahoma.
Empowering Our Healthcare
Another of our "bottom ten" rankings is Healthcare. Our people voted for Medicaid expansion in a statewide referendum. Our Legislature doesn't want to have to find ways to help sick Oklahomans pay for healthcare, so they want to override the will of the people. If they want to fight the Oklahoma voters as a group, they will lose. If we ignore healthcare rather than find a way to make wellness the standard and sickness easier to overcome, then we will be 50th in Healthcare too. Do you think large corporations will want to relocate to Oklahoma for last place health and last place learning? Blake advocates for increased Medicaid funding, whether from the State or the Federal governments. There is too much profit motive in healthcare. Our tribal governments within our state have addressed healthcare for their citizens for several decades now. A stronger collaboration with tribes and the State could help to meet the health needs of more Oklahomans going forward. Blake knows the federal government will need to get its act together to help lower prescription prices and costs of care, but there is a lot left to do at the State level. Again, who wants to be bottom ten?
A Note about Partisan Politics
Things have turned so sour politically across the Nation that some people are deciding who they like, love, work with, church with, etc., by whether they are an "R" or a "D". So bad that now many of our lawmakers take a side and don't budge, don't negotiate and ultimately don't get anything done for the citizens who need help. I guess they think it is easier to divide than unite. Fear drives their decisions. There is a far left, a far right, and the great majority of us in the middle that just want solutions to high gas prices, high property taxes, high insurance costs. There is no red or blue in my campaign. Purple is a prominent color in the culture of my Choctaw ancestors, a blending of red and blue that should bring hope and solutions, not fear. When I was growing up, my mother's family were all Republicans, my father's family were all Democrats. I love them all and respect them all. No walls, just talk. Putting ideologies aside and working together for solutions. Lets get back to that. I promise I will work hard for all who want to get us there again.
Our Mission
A Vision for Oklahoma
Our mission is to meet our promise that each and every vote Blake Cummings makes will be on behalf of, and for the benefit of, the millions of Oklahomans who have to pay higher utility bills, higher property taxes, higher home insurance rates, and who don't get special privileges like the corporations and the billionaires who want to run our lives and our government.
I will vote for your interests, not theirs.
Every single time.
Through transparency, accountability, and a focus on solutions, not ideologies, we aim to build a stronger, healthier, better Oklahoma for all of us. Join Blake in this fight for a brighter tomorrow.
